The Pittsburgh Penguins' bench cleared after Evgeni Malkin scored his 500th career goal againts the Buffalo Sabres.

Evgeni Malkin became just the 48th player in NHL history to hit this feature, 500 career goals, and has finally joined his countryman Alex Ovechkin as the only two Russian born players to ever reach this mark.

500 GENOS! 🚨

Evgeni Malkin becomes the 48th player in NHL history to score 500 career goals - and just the 20th to do so with a single team.

The big goal came Wednesday night against the Buffalo Sabres, and came at a big time when the Penguins, and Sabres were tied at 3 goals a piece during the third period.

Evgeni Malkin managed to best Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on his own rebound while falling to the ice. Following the goal the Pittsburgh Penguins bench cleared to celebrate this milestone with Evgeni Malkin.

Of course it wouldn't be a milestone without Sidney Crosby factoring in on Malkin's 500th career goal. Just like Evgeni Malkin factored in on Sidney Crosby's 500th career goal. You can't write it any better then that.

It was also a milestone night for Sidney Crosby as he collected his 1600th point earlier in the game off of an assist.

The game started off terrible for the Pittsburgh Penguins as Jarry allowed 2 goals on 2 shots, and then 3 goals on 5 shots.

The Pittsburgh Penguins ended up pulling Tristan Jarry in the first period after allowing the third goal.

The contest started off pretty bad for the Penguins, after goalie Tristan Jarry was beaten three times on five shots only.

Things then started to pick up for the crowd's favourites and fans were more than willing to get out of their seats for the 500th time for Geno.

Way to go, boys!
