Bruins Rivals Top Defensemans Career Most Likely Over After Injury
At the Toronto Maple Leafs' annual media day preceding the start of training camp, General Manager Brad Treliving shared significant news about the status of defenseman Jake Muzzin.
Treliving confirmed that Muzzin would be sidelined for the entire upcoming season due to a cervical spine injury.
Muzzin, 34 years old, hasn't seen action since October 17th, 2022. As he enters the final year of his four-year, $22.5 million contract, the Maple Leafs will be utilizing LTIR to handle his $5.625 million salary.
Should this signify the conclusion of Muzzin's playing career, his impressive resume includes 683 games played, 69 goals scored, and 294 points, highlighted by a Stanley Cup win with the LA Kings in 2014.
