The Toronto Maple Leafs stirred up some chatter last summer when they swapped out general manager Kyle Dubas for Brad Treliving, formerly of the Calgary Flames.

Treliving wasted no time making his mark, bringing in new blood like gritty forward Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi, son of Leafs legend Tie Domi.

Both signed one-year deals, aiming to earn longer contracts down the line.

However, updates on their futures with the team have been scarce. NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman reveals that talks about their return seem to have hit a standstill.

"Before we turn the page on the Leafs... I looked into it, and it doesn't sound like those [contract talks] are active right now. Domi and Bertuzzi are probably bigger deals, so those other ones are easy to do right now, and it's great for both [Bobby McMann and Simon Benoit].

I don't think there's anything close on Domi or Bertuzzi."

With their impressive stats, the Leafs face tough decisions ahead.
