Timothy Liljegren's injury is creating quite a buzz online once again, and this time, the focus is on Ryan Reaves.

Marchand Delivers a Blow to Liljegren, and the Leafs' Inaction Speaks Volumes

Last Thursday, Brad Marchand, the captain of the Boston Bruins, sent Timothy Liljegren, a defenseman for the Leafs, crashing into the boards.

Here's how it all unfolded:

Subsequently, it was confirmed that Liljegren would be sidelined on the LTIR due to a severe high ankle sprain.

The Toronto community was far from pleased with the lack of response from their team.

Treliving had made acquisitions aimed at preventing incidents like this. With players like Domi, Reaves, and Bertuzzi on the roster, many expected a strong retaliation.

But disappointingly, nothing materialized.

Reaves' False Claim Exposed

Ryan Reaves claimed that he didn't have the chance to face Marchand because the Bruins had the last change, and they weren't on the ice simultaneously.

"First of all, 'Get away from the bench.' Second of all, I guess he was lucky I wasn't out on the ice with him. Yeah, unfortunately they had the last change, so I didn't get any shifts against him." - Ryan Reaves

However, that statement doesn't hold up.

Marchand and Reaves shared the ice on two occasions after Liljegren left the game.

Fortunately, there were two more shifts in the game where numbers 75 and 63 were on the ice together.
