We don't know what's gonna happen with Patrice Bergeron and David Krecji quite yet. If they retire, the Bruins are in a much different place than they were this season.
If they don't retire, however, they will still likely be a competitive team this upcoming season.
Either way, the draft lottery will have major implications on their future.
Two teams in the Atlantic division, as well as three other teams in the metro could win the lottery for Connor Bedard tonight. The Ottawa Senators could equally move up from 12 to 2.
If any of these teams win the lottery and draft Connor Bedard or Adam Fantilli, the competition in the Eastern a conference takes another boost.
With Krecji and Bergeron, the Bruins are sure to face tougher opponents, and without them, they will have a steep hill to climb to become competitive again.
With there being a 39.5% chance of an eastern lottery win for 1st, as well as a 45.9% chance of them going for #2, there are pretty high odds that the East will get a big boost tonight.
Don Sweeney will have to get tactical with their limited draft picks if they want to stay on top of this ever toughening eastern conference.
