Another young NHL player has signed a new deal that will take him overseas to another professional hockey league.

First, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Alexandre Texier signed a one-year deal to play in Switzerland, as well as Calvin Thurkauf, another Blue Jackets player, who signed a seven-year deal in Switzerland.

The latest to leave the NHL is Swedish native Jonathan Dahlen, who was originally drafted in the second round (42nd overall) by the Ottawa Senators at the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. The 24-year-old is coming off a respectable rookie season of 12 goals and 10 assists in 61 games with the San Jose Sharks.

After not being qualified by the Sharks earlier this summer, Dahlen has officially signed a five-year contract with Timra IK of the SHL.
