37-year-old professional Russian hockey player Artem Tortochakov tragically passed away in a bar fight
Artem Tortochakov, a 37-year-old professional Russian hockey player tragically passed away after being involved in a bar fight.
The hockey community is mourning the loss of another player, this time 37-year-old Artem Tortochakov who ended up passing away after a brawl broke out in a bar from traumatic brain injuries.
Artem Tortochakov was a player in the HC Metallurg system, according to police who are still investigating this situation they have stated that he ended up passing away while at the hospital on November 3rd. A witness stated that Tortochakov got into a fight with another man outside of the club, which would ultimately lead to his passing.
Ria Novatsi has stated that an investigation is officially underway.
"The press service of the Investigative Committee told RIA Novosti that a criminal case has been opened against a 25-year-old resident of Abakan regarding the death of a 37-year-old man as a result of a fight. According to investigators, on the night of November 3, the deceased and the suspect had a fight while near one of the entertainment establishments in Abakan. Afterwards, the suspect struck the victim several times with his hands and a kick in the head. Then the fight moved further away from the establishment.
The victim was taken to the hospital, however, despite the resuscitation measures taken, it was not possible to save the man."
A forensic expert has stated that Tortochakov's passing was due to a traumatic brain injury.
