You knew a transaction was coming after the Bruins announced they had put their latest prospect under contract yesterday.

Just 24 hours after signing his entry-level deal with the Bruins, GM Don Sweeney announced that newly signed prospect Marc McLaughlin would be heading to the AHL's Providence Bruins.

On the flip side, Boston is calling-up Jack Studnicka and adding the forward to the active roster. Studnicka has been red-hot in the AHL as of late.

The 23-year-old sits third on the Providence squad with 24 assists and 33 points this season. He has picked up 14 of those points (3G-11A) over his last ten games.

As for McLaughlin, he'll get to suit up in his first professional hockey games with Providence. The 22-year-old just finished off a brilliant career as captain of the Boston College Eagles, setting career highs across the board (21G-11A-32P) in his 33-game senior season.
