It's no secret, the Carolina Hurricanes have been the better playoff team so far.
After dominating the first six periods of postseason play, the Canes currently hold a 2-0 lead in their first-round series against the B's.
While the Bruins have struggled so far in the playoffs, they aren't the only team that has gone winless in the opening round. After suffering a 2-1 overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche last night, the Nashville Predators also find themselves down two games to none in their first round series.
That means that as of right now, two of the NHL's opening round matchups have teams leading 2-0, while six of eight series are tied 1-1 through two games.
What makes those stats so impressive?
This marks just the seventh time in Stanley Cup Playoffs history (and first since 2015), that six or more best-of-seven series in the opening round are even through Game 2!
Thanks to the regular season standings, we were able to witness the great parity that exists between NHL franchises these days, but to see these tighlty contested games carry over to the playoffs is that much more impressive!
