Since the Boston Bruins fired head coach Bruce Cassidy, the rumours that have been swirling are that star forward David Pastrnak now wants out and that there's "no chance" that he signs an extension as long as Don Sweeney is the general manager of the team.

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman wanted to clear things up. He reported early Wednesday morning that he reached out to Pastrnak's agent J.P. Barry regarding the trade rumours.

From Friedman's Twitter (@FriedgeHNIC):

"Strong reporting from @FlutoShinzawa on David Pastrnak's future. Reached out to agent JP Barry, who spoke today with Pastrnak and GM Don Sweeney. Plan is for everyone to sit down in early July to discuss an extension. Barry says premature to jump to conclusions beforehand"

He continued:

"BOS priority is to sign Pastrnak, but if he won't sign -- then they'd definitely have to move him. We will see how it all plays out."

Take what you want from this, but it doesn't seem like Pasta is eager to get a deal done right now. As his agent said, though, "It's premature to jump to conclusions beforehand."
