The Bruins announced a roster move Wednesday morning, as a prospect has received his first NHL call up.
As per Bruins PR:
''Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, January 11, that the team has recalled forward Joona Koppanen and assigned forward Chris Wagner to Providence.''
Mark Allred of Black & Gold was the first to report the news.
The 24-year-old has appeared in 34 games for the Providence Bruins this season, recording 5 goals and 14 assists.
The 6'5'', 210 lb Koppanen has yet to appear in a NHL game. The forward was selected in the fifth round (135th overall) by the Bruins at the 2016 Entry Draft.
Wagner played just one game against the Anaheim Ducks during his recent call up, logging 12:36 of ice time.
