Penguins lock up upcoming free agent to extension

The Pittsburgh Penguins have extended one of their top upcoming free agents to an extension. The Penguins have a few expiring contracts from their top stars, including Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, Bryan Rust, Evan Rodrigues and Rickard Rakell.
Pittsburgh has officially signed winger Bryan Rust to a six-year, $30.75 million contract, with an annual average value of $5.125 mil. It was first reported by Elliotte Friedman on Twitter:
