Jeremy Swayman doesn't want to call it quits on the season just yet, as he has agreed to join Team USA for the 2022 IIHF World Championships in Finland. The tournament is being hosted in Helsinki and Tampere.
Swayman took the reigns from Linus Ullmark as the Bruins playoff starter after just the first two games of the series. The rookie netminder would play the rest of the games in the series and post a record of 3-2, a goals-against-average of 2.63, and a .911 save percentage.
He will be joining a very young US team whose veterans are Nate Schmidt (30) and Austin Watson (30). The team includes six players born in the 2000s, including Luke Hughes (2003), the New Jersey Devils' most recent first-round pick. The United States started the tournament with a 4-1 win over Latvia, a 3-2 overtime win over Austria and a 4-1 loss to Finland earlier today.
