The Boston Bruins seem to be doing all they can in trying to acquire some grit ahead of the deadline.
On top of some other reports linking the B's to Arizona's Jakob Chychrun, Boston also seems to have interest in San Jose defenseman Jacob Middleton.
The Sharks blueliner is a typical shutdown d-man; he's reliable in his own zone, can log heavy minutes, and is good on the penalty kill.
TSN's Pierre Lebrun mentioned yesterday that the teams who've shown the most interest in Middleton include the Bruins, the Blues and the Lightning.
Middleton has helped the Sharks work their way up to having the league's second-best penalty killing unit this season. He is also well-known for the physical edge he brings every game.
The 6'3'' blueliner is also a left hand shot, exactly what the Bruins are looking for!
Let's wait and see if Sweeney decides to pull the trigger on this one.
