The Calgary Flames have placed Kevin Rooney on waivers, who is in his first season of a two-year, $2.6 million contract he signed this summer as an unrestricted free agent.
So far this season, the centre has one assist in 17 games played.
Last season, Rooney had 6 goals and 6 assists for a total of 12 points in 61 games played with his former team, the New York Rangers.
It is currently uncertain if he will stay in the NHL, considering his current record.
