Like the entire Bruins lineup, Trent Frederic has been a pleasant surprise to start the 2022-23 season.

Through 22 games, the 24-year-old has collected six goals and five assists and is on pace for 41 points, smashing his career-high of 18 points (2021-22). Frederic has turned it up as of late, as he has three goals and three assists in his last five games, all against tough opponents.

One thing that has stood out in Frederic's game is how he's been utilizing a new tool, the one-timer, showcased in two straight games against the Colorado Avalanche.

Head coach Jim Montgomery touched on that post-game Wednesday night:

''Slowly but surely, from the first game of the season where he didn't play, he's gotten better and better...his confidence has grown...the other thing is, I didn't know he had a one-timer, now we're seeing it all the time.''

Not only that, but the St. Louis native has also been using his usual physical play mixed in too. Case in point, this sequence from the game in Denver:

Frederic is obviously thriving from Taylor Hall being placed on the third line with him and Charlie Coyle. The trio combined for seven points against the Avalanche Wednesday night and 8 goals and 8 assists in the last five games.

Hall discussed how his linemates have opened up ice for him to use his elite speed.

''It's been fun getting with those guys, and getting some team success allows me personally to not worry about my own game. It frees me up a little bit.''

There's no doubt the Bruins' new third line is a tremendous luxury for a contending team. Boston has an entirely new dynamic with a trio as such on the third line. Watch Frederic's post-game media coverage below:
