The Boston Bruins and general manager Don Sweeney now move their focus to the 2019-20 season.
It was an extremely disappointing end to an incredible Stanley Cup run, but there's no reason to look back now.
Sweeney and the Bruins have some interesting decisions to make in the coming weeks.
They don't have the biggest cap freedom this summer and need to figure out deals for restricted free agents Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo and Danton Heinen while making decisions on pending free agents Noel Acciari and Marcus Johansson.
That's a lot to take care of with only about $14million in cap space.
An option that's been floated around?
A David Krejci trade.
The 33 year old has two more years on his contract which carries a $7.25million cap hit for the next two years which includes a no movement clause that changes into a mordified no trade clause on July 1st.
However Sweeney told reporters on Monday that while some changes could happen on the wing for the second line, Krejci will still be the center next year.
