For what has been a hard time for NHL teams to find trade partners, the Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres found a way Thursday evening.
It was a swap of current AHL defensemen, as the Stars acquired Oskari Laaksonen in exchange for Joseph Cecconi.
As per Puck Empire on Instagram:
Laaksonen, 23, has two points through 10 games played with the Rochester Americans (AHL) this season. He was drafted 89th overall by Buffalo in 2017.
Cecconi, 25, has two points through 12 games played with the Texas Stars (AHL) this season. He was drafted 133rd overall by Dallas in 2015.
