Details have finally been revealed on the passing of 24-year old goaltender Creed Jones.

Creed Jones was a former goaltender who played in the QMJHL for the Gatineau Olympiques, Rimouski Oceanic, Saint John Sea Dogs, and the Rimouski Oceanic from 2017-2021.

After hanging up the skates in the QMJHL Jones went on to play one year at the University of Ottawa in 2021-22 before ultimately calling it a career.

Since the passing of Creed Jones, CBC News has finally revealed what caused him to pass away:

«Former Oceanic goaltender, Creed Jones, tragically died at the age of 24 following a motorcycle accident on Friday night on Highway 417 in the Ottawa region. His host families in Rimouski are in shock.»

«According to the CBC, Jones was traveling westbound shortly before midnight. He reportedly collided with another motorcyclist, aged 27, in a ramp. He also died in the tragedy.»

- Olivier Therriault

Creed wasn't the only person to lose his life in this accident, as reported another young person was also involved and also lost their life at the young age of 27.

Our thoughts and prayers are with both of their families and friends as they navigate through this tough time.

May they both rest in peace.
