Ever since the Chicago Blackhawks visited TD Garden on November 19th, the rumours have swirled in the NHL about the possibility of Patrick Kane to the Boston Bruins.

And in a sense, it does make sense for the Bruins, just like Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now touched on a couple of weeks ago:

''The Bruins were all in already, but with this start, I'd say they're full speed ahead and will do whatever it takes to get Patrice Bergeron one more Stanley Cup.''

(more on that here).

Now, former NHL defenseman Ryan Whitney talked about the idea of Kane to Boston on a recent episode of Spittin' Chiclets, reiterating that people shouldn't sleep on the Bruins being an option for Kane (video below):

''The Bruins are as all-in as a team has ever been! So, don't sleep on that.''

Whitney followed up with another message on Twitter after the video made its rounds on social media:

''This is not as crazy as it sounds. Get rid of Reilly get rid of Smith and Chicago retains half salary and boom kane is a Bruin. He has a NMC and will decide where he wants to go. Why not go to the best team in the league. Blackhawks will have no say.''

The Bruins already placed Anton Stralman on waivers, and general manager Don Sweeney has reportedly been making calls about possible trades involving Mike Reilly, Craig Smith and maybe even Brandon Carlo.
