Earlier today, Anaheim Ducks goaltender John Gibson allowed his frustrations to boil over against Detroit Red Wings forward Adam Erne.
As the two engaged behind the net, Gibson hit him with an elbow before Erne retaliated with a slash. Gibson returned a slash of his own before the referee finally blows the whistle.
After the whistle, Gibson gave Erne another shot for good measure, and a cross-check to the back of the head sent Erne to the ground. Gibson was given a two- minute minor for elbowing and another two for roughing, while Erne received two minutes for his slash.
