Before joining the Bruins, Foligno spent five seasons with the Ottawa Senators, nine with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and one more with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
A quick glance at those teams and you can understand why the 34-year-old doesn't have much postseason experience to his name.
As a matter of fact, Foligno is one of 20 active NHLers who have played in at least 1000 regular season games without ever laying their hands on the Stanley Cup.
Of those 20 names, nine have already been eliminated from this season's playoffs, therefore delaying their dreams of ever lifting the Cup. Those players are, in order of games played: Brent Burns, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Zach Parise, Keith Yandle, Paul Stastny, Andy Greene, Loui Eriksson, Jakub Voracek and Blake Wheeler.
Dallas' Ryan Suter and Joe Pavelski are still fighting for a playoff spot, so their chances of winning a Stanley Cup are still alive and both men are looking to join the other members of the 1000-game club going for the game's biggest prize.
The other notable names that have reached four digits in regular season games played but that are still looking for their first Cup are, in order of games played: Joe Thornton, Jason Spezza, Andrew Cogliano, Jack Johnson, Mark Giordano, Marc Staal, Wayne Simmonds, Claude Giroux and, of course, Boston's Nick Foligno.
Foligno received his 1000th game's silver stick just a few weeks ago:
