Swayman and Team USA faceoff against Finland for a spot in the Gold Medal game

Boston Bruins rookie goaltender Jeremy Swayman and Team USA played against the host Team Finland this morning, with an opportunity to advance to the Gold Medal game at the 2022 IIHF World Championship.
Swayman and Finland's Jussi Olkinuora came into the day as the top two goaltenders in the tournament. The Bs rookie had an outstanding 0.69 goals-against-average, and .969 save percentage, while Olkinuora was even better, with a 0.50 goals-against-average and .975 save percentage. Both netminders let in goals Saturday morning they might like to have back, but neither was guilty have a bad game.
In a hard-fought, back-and-forth matchup, the shots favoured the United States 28-26, but Finland came out on top, 4-3, to advance to the Gold Medal game in their host tournament. Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen set the pace for the Fins with a goal and two assists.

The United States will play in the Bronze Medal game tomorrow and Finland for the Gold Medal. Team Czechia and Canada face off later today to see who both teams will play.
