The Arizona Coyotes and Vegas Golden Knights have come together on Wednesday to make a deal that sees defensemen swap teams.

Insider Kevin Weekes was the first to report the news:

**Breaking News** 🚨📰
I'm told @ArizonaCoyotes are trading D Dysin Mayo to @GoldenKnights in exchange for 5th Rd Pick in 2023 and D Shea Weber (contract).

Not long after, both the Coyotes and Golden Knights confirmed the deal on their own Twitter accounts.

Mayo, 26, is a depth defenseman who currently has 4 goals and 8 assists in 82 career games.

Weber, 37, who was once one of the best defenders in the league, hasn't played since the 2020-21 season when he was a member of the Montreal Canadiens. In 1,038 games with the Habs and Predators, he registered 224 goals and 365 assists.

Weber probably won't ever play in the NHL again so this is nothing but a money move for both teams.

Is this a start of a Jakob Chychrun trade finally happening!?
