On the final day of the regular season, the Anaheim Ducks had to use an emergency backup goalie, or EBUG, after both of their goaltenders were injured in a game against the Dallas Stars.

This has happened a few times before as well; the Chicago Blackhawks used accountant Scott Foster and probably the most famous one was when the Carolina Hurricanes used the Toronto Maple Leaf's own Zamboni driver to beat the Leafs.

As Brent Burns proved recently after a San Jose Sharks' practice, forwards and defensemen could also be a good option to throw in the net if need be. Burns was filmed wearing teammate Kaapo Kahkonen's goalie equipment in a scrimmage against 10 and 11-year-olds.

NHL teams are full of professional athletes, so there's something I've always thought of: Why don't teams dress a forward or defenseman as the goalie in a situation as such?

Obviously, teams don't want to risk their players getting injured playing a position they're not used to, but it would make for good entertainment!
