The Boston Bruins have been without a top-two defenseman since game two of their best-of-seven against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Hampus Lindholm took a massive hit from Hurricanes' forward Andrei Svechnikov and was forced to leave game two with an upper-body injury. Lindholm would not dress for games three, four or five as well. The Bruins' actually won game four without Lindholm or Charlie McAvoy in the lineup.

Lindholm has been medically cleared and will return tonight for game six against the Hurricanes. He spoke to the media after Thursday morning's skate to discuss the hit, his recovery and the must-win game tonight:

"It [recovery] was pretty quick after, actually ... Luckily I'm in good shape enough to take [the hit] in a good way, and luckily it didn't take worse ... I remember coming around the net, and obviously, I wanted to try and take the middle there. Taking a peek over my shoulder [before], I didn't really see anything because of the net there, which is unlucky when you look over, and you have the goalie in the net, and I got a little blind spot."

Overall, Lindholm seems to be excited to get back on the ice with his team and states that the extra rest is a positive from the negative of being injured. He noted that he doesn't have any ill will towards Svechnikov as he knows it wasn't intended to harm and that it's the playoffs, and guys are looking for those big hits to spark their team.
