INSIDER | Bruins have inquired about Jakob Chychrun

With the March 3rd Trade Deadline slowly approaching, GMs around the league are working the phone lines more and more.
Including Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins.
Recent reports are that the Bruins are in the market for a left handed defenseman, as they were previously linked to Vladislav Gavrikov (CBJ) and Joel Edmundson (MTL).
But according to Pierre LeBrun of The Atheltic, Boston has indeed made calls regarding the best available, Jakob Chychrun.
As per Lebrun:
''The NHL-leading Bruins, by the way, are among the teams who have also recently inquired with the Coyotes on Chychrun � which is very interesting but also not surprising, as the B's prefer to do hockey deals at this time of year and Chychrun is under contract through the 2024-25 season.''
It would be surprising to see Sweeney pull off a trade to acquire Chychrun, or even try for that matter. However, this Bruins team should be as all in as a team has ever been.
Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now also shared that it wouldn't be cheap for them either:
''If the Bruins want Chychrun, they're moving a roster D,'' an NHL source told BHN on Thursday. �'I'd be surprised if they do go after him right now even though he improves them now and in the future. They would need to move a current guy on their defense to make it happen, whether it's to the Coyotes or another team. You look at what happened with Horvat, and I think Sweeney's goal is to add without an impact subtraction.�'
That �'roster D'' mentioned would most likely be Brandon Carlo or Matthew Grzelcyk. Chychrun is an upgrade on both, especially Grzelcyk on the left side, and comes with close to the same cap hit.
LeBrun mentioned that both the Kings and Oilers are the other two teams that have been in talks the most with Coyotes.
