Patrick Kane is the biggest name on the NHL trade market right now, but it turns out his season may already be over.
Every Stanley Cup contender would've been lined up for the Kane sweepstakes but as one insider has reported, that may not be the case anymore.
On a recent episode of the 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman shared some interesting news regarding the veteran All-Star.
''There has been a rumor that Pat Kane has been dealing with something, some kind of injury; some sort of nagging injury for some period of time. And at some point he's going to need a clean-up.''
'I wonder if the solution is: Kane and the Blackhawks agree to a one-year extension, he shuts himself down, he goes and gets whatever procedure he needs, and he comes back next year healthy and refreshed, and we go through this again.''
It almost sounds like the same situation that Brad Marchand faced this off-season. Keep playing and the injury will end your career early, or just get it done and miss a few months instead.
No matter what, this could put an end to a potential Patrick Kane trade. For this season at least.
