Friday afternoon saw some bigger names across the NHL placed on waivers.
Chris Johnston of Sportsnet was one of the first to share today's waiver moves:
''Among those placed on NHL waivers today: Jordan Martinook (CAR), Anton Khudobin (DAL), Mattias Janmark (EDM), Dmitri Samorukov (EDM), Andreas Johnson (NJ), Martin Frk (STL), Klim Kostin (STL), Justin Dowling (VAN), Johnathan Kovacevic (WPG).''
Headlining Friday's group are Martinook, Janmark and former Bruins goaltender Khudobin. Prospects like Oilers' Samorukov and Blues' Kostin could be names that get picked up by younger teams.
