The door might be open for the Boston Bruins to bring back another piece from the past.

General manager of the New York Islanders, Lou Lamoriello, finally made his first signings of the offseason late in August. With that, he made one statement in particular that may impact the Bruins as well.

Zdeno Chara is the former captain of the Bruins and he's had a amazing career in the NHL. However, the 45-year-old has been on the fence about either playing one more year or retiring.

It appears he wants to continue his career and who's gonna stop Big Z?

With Lamoriello's statement, it's clear Chara won't be back with the Islanders, so why not bring him back to Boston for one more kick at the can and for him to retire a Bruin (like it should be).

It already appears as though Don Sweeney is trying to rebuild the roster that made it to the 2019 Stanley Cup final, convincing Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci to come back.
