Forward Nazem Kadri earned a big pay raise because of his terrific 2021-22 season.
After winning the Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche, Kadri signed a seven-year, $49,000,000 contract with the Calgary Flames on August 18th, 2022, with an AAV of $7 million. Kadri is a native of London, Ontario, and has used his new earnings for a very great cause.
Mike Stubbs, who does radio play-by-play for the London Knights of the OHL, reported that Kadri has made a large donation in his hometown:
''Nazem Kadri has made a donation of $1-million in support of the Ambulatory Surgical Centre at London Health Sciences Centre. It will now be known as the Nazem Kadri Surgical Centre.''
For those who don't know, Ambulatory Surgical Centres and Ambulatory Care Centres are vital parts of our communities. They often function as doctor's offices and small surgery locations and serve people like you and me every day. In a place like Canada, where the healthcare system is free but problematic, this donation will go a long way.
