Former Boston Bruins forward and NHL legend Jaromir Jagr knows what it takes to be one of the best in the league.
Recently, Jagr made a very bold statement regarding current phenom Alexander Ovechkin and his chance to catch Wayne Gretzky's goal scoring record:
''Earlier, I thought Ovechkin didn't have any chance to break Gretzky's goal record. It was six years ago. But Alex has changed and became a better and more effective hockey player than when he was in his youth. I think he works harder now. He'll be able to break Gretzky's record if he can stay healthy and keep working as hard as now.''
Gretzky holds the record for most goals in NHL history with 894.
Ovechkin currently sits in third with 780 and is 21 behind Gordie Howe for third. He has four years remaining on his contract with the Washington Capitals, which will expire when he is 40 years old.
