There's a chance that Bruins fans briefly held their breath when it was announced that Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci were absent from Monday's morning skate.
Good news is that head coach Jim Montgomery revealed that the two were just taking a maintenance day. With 20 games remaining and Boston comfortably leading the NHL, guys like Bergeron and Krejci will be happy with all the rest they can get.
But, of course Montgomery had to take a friendly jab at the veteran duo's age during his media coverage earlier today:
''It's the senior citizen discount...we're starting to really look into days off in communication with, not only those two, but other players who might be having some aches and bruises.''
The Bruins (49-8-5) are currently off until Thursday night when they host Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.
