The Boston Bruins continue to pace the league with a 41-8-5 record and a plus-86 goal differential.

Along the way, the club has had career-year-type seasons from several players, but one has stood out to Jim Montgomery for his off-ice presence.

As we all know, David Pastrnak knows how to put up the points on the ice, but as the Bruins bench boss shared, the forward does a lot more than that for his team.

''I had heard how wonderful a teammate he is through discussions you hear throughout the league.''

''One thing that was apparent to me right away when I got here was sitting down with the staff, and [Chris Kelly] said he thought Pasta was the most connected to everybody in the locker room, to speak about his leadership.''

''Whether it's young guys or old guys, he has a bond with everybody.''

Turns out, he brings on the ice too, as Pasta currently sits second in the NHL in goals (39) and fifth in points (74) through 54 games.
