The B's know just how worthy the forward's contributions are to the club, and decided to hold onto his services for the post-season run. Since then, Debrusk has been red-hot.
The first line winger is riding a five-game goal streak heading into tonight's matchup. But Debrusk has been clutch for the B's dating all the way back to the start of the season, and has has the stats to prove it.
Thanks to last night's game-winner, the 25-year-old is now the Bruins player who has scored the most overtime goals this season. With his second tally scored in the extra frame this season, Debrusk sits in front of teammates David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Taylor Hall, Charlie Coyle and Matthew Grzelcyk, who each have one OT goal so far.
But DeBrusk, who was only moved to the Bruins top line alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand last month, has been delivering in the clutch for months.
Aside from being first in OT tallies, he sits third on the Bruins with 21 goals this season and second on the club with seven game-winners.
Debrusk (7) only trails David Pastrnak (9) for most game-winning goals scored for the Bruins during the ongoing campaign. What's even more impressive? He's done it in half of Pastrnak's shots on goal, and with only two tallies coming on the power play.
There's no question about it, Jake Debrusk has been one of the Bruins' most clutch players in 2021-22!
