Linus Ullmark just keeps the good times rolling, as the Bruins defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-0 on Sunday.
With the win, Ullmark's personal record improved to an outstanding 25-2-1, and put his name alongside a Bruins legend in the NHL record books.
As per NHL Public Relations:
Linus Ullmark improved to 25-2-1 through 30 games in 2022-23. Only one goaltender in NHL history has required fewer contests to reach the 25-win mark in a season: Tiny Thompson (29 GP in 1929-30 w/ BOS).
However, as Arda Orcal of NHL on ESPN pointed out, Ullmark also achieved a league first:
'With the win, Linus Ullmark sets @NHL record for fewest decisions (games that count toward a goalie's win/loss record) needed to reach 25 wins in a season (28)
Game goes on a goalie's win/loss record if they were in net for the game winning goal (regardless of time played).''
