Canada was the first to advance to the gold medal game at the 2022 World Junior Championships with a convincing 6-3 win over the underdogs from Czechia.
The night cap was a rematch of the classic Nordic rivalry between Sweden and Finland, with the last remaining Boston Bruins prospect Fabian Lysell in action.
This semifinal matchup was not as high scoring as the first game, as a second period goal by Finland's Kasper Puutio ended up being the only goal scored in the contest.
Finnish goaltender Juha Jatkola came away with a 23-save shutout, while Sweden's Jesper Wallstedt was strong as well, stopping 27 of 28 shots he faced.
Sweden will play Czechia for the bronze tomorrow afternoon, while Canada and Finland will play each other for gold for the first time ever in World Junior Championship history.
