We got a goalie goal!

A goaltender scoring a goal might be one of the rarest things to happen in a professional hockey game, but in a playoff game, even?

That's what St.Louis Blues prospect Joel Hofer did the other night. Hofer was drafted in the fourth round (107th overall) in the 2018 NHL Entry draft, and he currently plays for the Blues' AHL affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds.

His goal came in a playoff game against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins to make it a 5-2 game for the Thunderbirds. It was Hofer's first professional playoff game as well. It's the first AHL goalie goal since Penguins' Tristan Jarry got one in 2018-19. Red Wings' Alex Nedeljkovic also had one of his own in 2017-18.
