Matthew Tkachuk was traded to the Florida Panthers earlier this summer and he's done everything possible to win over the fan base. After the trade Tkachuk made it clear that the Panthers was the only team he wanted to play for. He followed that up by expressing just how much he disliked the Tampa Bay Lightning.
With training camp about a week away Tkachuk has made his way to Florida and last night he was a special guest of the Miami Marlins. Tkachuk was granted the opportunity to throw out the first pitch. Unfortunately for Tkachuk the pitch didn't go as well as I'm sure he hoped.
It's clear why Tkachuk is a hockey player and not a baseball player. Tkachuk will look to lead the Panthers to back-to-back President's Trophies when the season starts in 3 weeks.
