The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) is a major junior league that is part of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Since 1969, the OHL has had 2,379 players selected to the NHL, which is in first place globally. This represents 20% of all players ever selected in the NHL Draft.
OHL alumni include current NHL point leaders such as Connor McDavid, Mitch Marner, Matthew Tkachuk, Patrick Kane and Steven Stamkos. The league is well known for the high-end skill it has produced for many years now.
The league's newest highlight comes from Antonio Stranges from the London Knights of the OHL. The Dallas Stars prospect was drafted in the fourth round (123rd overall) in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He currently has 31 goals and 53 assists in 60 games this season.
In a recent game against the Saginaw Spirit, Stranges showed off his incredible skating skills and how beneficial the use of quality edge work can help players create space for themselves.
