The Pittsburgh Penguins dropped game five to the New York Rangers by a score of 5-3 but still lead 3-2, going back home for game six. Unfortunately, there's a chance they could be without their top player in the crucial game.

Penguins' captain Sidney Crosby took a hit up high from Rangers' defenseman Jacob Trouba late in the second period of Wednesday night's contest. He was seen walking down the tunnel to the dressing room soon after and did not return to the game.

Here's the hit:

Of course, Crosby has had a terrible history of concussions, so this is not a good thing to see. Not just for Penguins fans but for any hockey fan, Sid is still one of the best in the game and easily the most polarizing figure in the NHL in the past 15 years.

The Penguins' head coach Mike Sullivan was not happy about the incident when asked about it after the game and if he believes Trouba had intent:

It's hard to say if Trouba had intent, and it's a huge accusation to put on an opposing player. If you watch the play closely, Trouba goes to poke check the puck, and his stick catches Crosby's left skate, making the Penguins forward go lower right before the hit. At the same time, the poke jams Trouba's elbow, forcing it upwards into Crosby's face.

Sullivan had another update this morning, hinting at the league to take a look at it:
