What a scary scene from the KHL!
A Yaroslavls stadium staff member is lucky to be alive after a terrifying incident occurred yesterday in Lokomotiv, Russia. The arena staff was attempting to set up the stadium's brand new state-of-the-art Jumbotron that fell to the floor during installations, injuring one worker.
Karl Mnsson of HockeyNews.se in Stockholm reports that the jumbotron collapsed, causing one employee to be rushed to a nearby medical facility. The injured worker is thankfully expected to live, but this incident could have ended a lot worse.
The NHL had a similar situation in 1996 when the Buffalo Sabres were renovating their arena and installing their new jumbotron. Luckily no one was seriously injured then either.
