When Taylor Hall delivered a clean hit to Nathan MacKinnon, the Avalanche, their fan base and everyone in-between were absolutely incensed that Hall wouldn't drop the gloves and atone for his mistake. The Avalanche and their fans tried to take Hall to the woodshed for what they perceived to be a dirty hit, even though it was MacKinnon's own stick that caused most of the damage.

Unfortunately on the play MacKinnon did suffer a concussion, which no one ever wants to see. Well only 2 games removed from returning from injury Nathan MacKinnon has now thrown a questionable hit of his own. After Nolan Patrick moved the puck, MacKinnon elected to catch the 23-year-old with a shoulder to the chin/head area that sent Patrick to the ice.

Patrick has a long history of concussions dating back to junior hockey. Patrick even missed significant time while dealing with migraine headaches that almost completely derailed his career. A hit like this, which is completely uncalled for and illegal in more ways than one deserves to be looked at by the league.

MacKinnon was only given 2 minutes for this hit and get this? He never had to fight to make up for this dirty hit.

Just remember if it was Marchand that threw this hit, it's a guaranteed 10 game suspension.
