Former Boston Bruins' draft pick Phil Kessel has been linked to several teams this summer, as he's a part of free agency for the first time in his career.

Kessel has been a consistent performer throughout his entire career, and the 34-year-old right wing has 399 goals and 557 assists in 1,204 games with the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Arizona Coyotes.

The veteran has been linked to the Edmonton Oilers all summer long, but things have fizzled as the Oilers are heavily pursuing Chicago Blackhawks star, Patrick Kane.

However, Eric Francis of Sportsnet believes the Oilers' rivals, the Calgary Flames, and sources have begun to list Kessel as a potential fit for the Flames.

The Flames are set down the middle with Elias Lindholm, Nazem Kadri, and Mikael Backlund. On the wing, the Flames have Jonathan Huberdeau, Andrew Mangiapane, Tyler Toffoli and Blake Coleman. It's reported that general manager Brad Treliving is done adding though.

There seems to be a fit on the Flames roster for Kessel, as they have the cap space to make it work. Maybe a one-year, $1 to $2 million deal?
