The Frank J. Selke Trophy, or simply the Selke Trophy, is awarded annually to the NHL forward, who demonstrates the most skill in the defensive component of the game. The professional Hockey Writers' Association (PHWA) selects the winner by a poll following the regular season.
The three 2022 finalists are Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins, Aleksander Barkov of the Florida Panthers and Elias Lindholm of the Calgary Flames.
The NHL announced the winner prior to puck drop for game three of the Eastern Conference Final between the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers:
Boston Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron has won the Selke for a record-breaking fifth time in his career.
