Today is a huge day for one specific NHL prospect!
That being 20-year-old Pavel Novak, a forward prospect of the Minnesota Wild, who announced that he has beaten cancer. Novak made the announcement earlier today on his person Instagram (p_novak_11), with the following caption:
''Hello everyone,
After a few months of troubles, I'm happy to share with you that I beat the cancer. There is no better feeling than to be healthy again.🙏🏻
I would like to say thank you to all the doctors who helped me to get over this. You're my heroes.
The biggest thank you to my parents and sister who always supported me and went thru all treatment with me. It wouldn't work without you.❤️
Also thank you to everyone who was praying for me!
I'm really excited about what the future brings.

Novak, a native of the Czech Republic, was selected in the fifth round (146th overall) by the Wild in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the 2021-22 season with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL and finished with an impressive 29 goals and 43 points in 62 games.
Near the end of June, he announced his cancer diagnosis and that he would be stepping away from hockey to fight his battle. Novak has never said what type of cancer it was, but he is finally ready to return to the game immediately.
Awesome news for the youngster!
