One year ago, today was a sad day in Boston Bruins history, as one of the best to dawn the ''Black and Gold'' hung up the skates for good.

After signing a one-year deal less than a month prior, goaltender Tuukka Rask officially retired from the NHL at the age of 35 on February 9th, 2022.

He had previously missed significant time due to personal matters affected by the pandemic and surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip.

Rask was one of the best goaltenders to play for the Bruins, as he ranks at or near the top in several franchise categories:

Games: 564 (1st)Wins: 308 (1st)GAA: 2.28 (2nd)SV%: .921 (T-1st)Shutouts: 52 (2nd)Playoff Wins: 57 (1st)

Spending his entire 15-year career in Boston, he won the Vezina Trophy in 201314 (finalist in 2019-20), the William M. Jennings Trophy along with Jaroslav Halák in the 201920 and was a two-time NHL All-Star.

Rask also won the 2011 Stanley Cup with the Bruins as backup for Tim Thomas.
