Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi was disciplined by the NHL Player Safety after a dangerous hit on former Boston Bruins fan favourite.

Today, the NHL Player Safety just disciplined Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi for throwing a dangerous elbow at former Boston Bruins fan favourite Garnet Hathaway.

In their meeting yesterday, the Toronto Maple Leafs were taking on the Philadelphia Flyers when Max Domi went to throw a hit, but left his feet to try and hit Garnet Hathaway in his face with his elbow.

It came at a crucial time in the game as the Leafs and Flyers were tied 2-2 with just under 15 minutes remaining in the third period, when Max Domi was assed a two minute minor for elbowing.

The Leafs would end up killing off the penalty, and went on to win it in overtime, but the league disciplined Domi for this hit this morning.

This morning it was announced that Max Domi was fined $5,000, which is the maximum allowed under the current CBA for elbowing Garnet Hathaway.
