Player From Bruins Rival Gets Suspended For Controversial Reason
Earlier today, Montreal Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle got called in by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for slashing Philadelphia's Travis Konecny.
Later on Friday, they said Guhle is suspended one game for it.
Montreal's Kaiden Guhle has been suspended for one game for slashing Philadelphia's Travis Konecny.
During the game, Guhle tapped Konecny with his stick while Konecny was sitting on the bench.
After the game, Konecny's teammate Garnet Hathaway called out Guhle and the Canadiens for what he thought was a dirty play.
Some fans thought Guhle would get a longer suspension. But since he never did anything wrong before, they didn't punish him too hard. Some people wanted him fined instead.
So, not everyone's happy with this decision.
This will be a lesson for Guhle, who's a big part of the Habs' defense. He's played 110 games for them and got 39 points.
