NHL teams have a reputation for how they handle their coaches and players. No matter how good the team is, this easily determines players choices of signing with them or not.

And one team is currently rumoured to be a 'no-go'' recently for free agents.

Vegas was once a preferred destination when the Golden Knights first broke into the league in 2017. However, that is reportedly no longer the case.

After the way the Golden Knights handled the Marc-Andre Fleury situation, the Alex Pietrangelo signing and now the Max Pacioretty trade, players are now hesitant to sign in Vegas.

According to multiple NHL Executives, Vegas takes the "it's a business" motto a little too far.

The Athletic's Sean Shapiro re-shared a quote he recorded from an NHL agent, from an article he wrote back in February. Stating the relevance now.

As per Shapiro:

'Vegas treats you great until they dont. They've gone from the team of opportunity, the 'golden misfits' or whatever, to the 'evil empire. As an agent, you have to warn your guy that he's expendable as soon as his salary doesn't fit with the plan. Look at what happened with (Marc-Andre) Fleury. I think as long as they win they'll avoid problems, but if they have a losing season, watch out.''
